  • Regular updating on employment legislation
  • Checking any correspondence to staff
  • Regular review meetings, quarterly if desired

or

 

2. On a Project Basis – To meet your specific needs
eg drafting contracts of employment, designing an appraisal scheme, conducting an HR audit – or even just providing support on a difficult staff problem.

Costs

Charges vary according to the type of arrangement but there will be no requirement to commit your company to a long term contract – and it costs nothing to explore this opportunity further.

Type of work undertaken

Projects vary according to the needs of the client but below are examples of work undertaken:

  • Conducting an ‘HR audit’ of the company’s HR activities to evaluate current practices and level of compliance with employment legislation and with best practice.
  • Drafting contracts of employment, employee handbooks and job descriptions
  • Supporting Managers personally or by email/telephone throughout disciplinary/grievance procedures or when dealing with other staff issues
  • Developing family friendly policies such as maternity, paternity, parental leave, flexible working and other policies including stress, use of e-mail, harassment, smoking - taking account of current legislation
  • Training Managers in interviewing skills – for selection, discipline, appraisal
  • Assisting with recruitment activities – whether it be training or coaching on interviewing skills, or personally shortlisting applicants
  • Advising on absence management strategies, handling redundancies, or other employee issues
  • Designing a Performance Appraisal Scheme and providing support during implementation
  • Evaluating terms and conditions and comparing with best practice
  • Assisting with Employment Tribunal Claims
  • Providing guidance and training to an HR Administrator to develop HR skills
